What Homegrown By Heroes Means to Us

Being accredited through Homegrown By Heroes is more than a certification — it’s a badge of honor that tells the story behind our farm and our lamb. Homegrown By Heroes is the official national branding program for U.S. military veterans who produce agricultural products. It’s administered by the Farmer Veteran Coalition and recognizes veterans and active service members who own and operate farming businesses with integrity and purpose.

When you see the Homegrown By Heroes logo on our products, it means:

  • Our farm is majority-owned and operated by a U.S. military veteran

  • We have completed the required verification and accreditation process

  • Our operation reflects honesty, responsibility, and good stewardship

  • You are supporting a veteran continuing their service through agriculture

  • Our products are authentically veteran-produced and identified as such

  • Your purchase helps strengthen veteran-led farms and rural communities

Homegrown By Heroes gives our customers confidence that they’re choosing high-quality, responsibly raised lamb from a veteran-led family farm — and it’s a distinction we are deeply proud to carry.

Our lamb isn’t just meat — it’s premium, pasture-raised flavor packed with nutrients. Processed at the perfect age for tenderness and flavor, every cut is lean, high in protein, rich in vitamin B12, zinc, and omega-3s, making it a powerful addition to any diet. Compared to beef, lamb is often lower in calories and saturated fat, yet delivers a deeper, more savory flavor that stands out on your plate.

Raised ethically, without hormones, and with plenty of space to roam, our lamb grows naturally, stress-free, and packed with character — which you can taste in every bite. From pasture to processor to your table, our mission is simple: deliver lamb that’s sustainably raised, nutritionally strong, and unmistakably premium. When you choose our lamb, you’re choosing health, flavor, and a product raised with pride, care, and ranch-born integrity.

Why Our Lamb Leads the Flock

  • Lean & Protein-Packed: 1 serving = ~23g of high-quality protein.

  • Nutrient Dense: Loaded with vitamin B12, zinc, selenium, and omega-3s.

  • Heart-Friendly: Lower in saturated fat than beef, naturally rich in CLA.

  • Pasture-Raised & Hormone-Free: Raised stress-free with no hormones ever.

  • Processed at Peak Flavor: Tender, juicy cuts at the perfect lamb age.

  • Ranch-Born Quality: Raised with care, attention, and pride by a veteran-led family farm.

Every bite delivers flavor, health, and integrity — meat you can trust, meat that makes your plate and your body feel good.

Garcia Eat Meats… And This Is Why

We are so satisfied with our meat! We made gyros the first night we tried their product and the flavor was rich and savory. The steaks have great marbling and we can't wait to fire up the grill this summer. 10/10 great producer of lamb.

Absolute dedication from this company, from the customer service to the quality meats and simply a great all around business who services their community and loves the concept of supporting local communities and businesses. I was really impressed when they showed up and donated some of their best cuts of meat to the Memorial Day reunion held at VFW 3777 in Festus Missouri, delicious!

I’ve always considered myself a beef boi. Ribeyes, t-bones, roasts, filet mignons, and Hamburger Helper® are just a few of my favorites.

For Father’s Day this year, my wife and children got me several different cuts of lamb from Garcia Eat Meats. I was a little taken back because I have never cooked any lamb before, aside from store bought of the chop variety where I have no idea what body part it was sliced off of. Once my wife told me where it came from and that it was local, I was excited to try my hand to become the best griller of lamb in the Panhandle.

Tonight was finally the night I got to slap some lamb on the grill. Although we had several different cuts to pick from, we ended up choosing the shoulder chops. I know it was shoulder chops because it says it on the packaging, unlike the store bought ones that aren’t raised and butchered locally.

I’m not going to tell you the temperature, how I seasoned them, or what ritual I used before grilling because I will be bullied by other grill-men and I don’t handle those situations well.

I can tell you after about 15 minutes or so, those chops turned out absolutely amazing. Juicy, tender, and cooked beautifully. I don’t know what they feed the lambs, but whatever it is, they shouldn’t change a thing. I am looking forward to grilling up the rest of the cuts we have!

11/10 (They get an extra point because they don’t use those stupid styrofoam trays with seranwrap over it, everything is vacuumed sealed to keep in all the lamb essence)
